Weekend Trip to the Greenhouse

Saturday morning the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day so we decided to take a trip around the panhandle and tour our local greenhouses. We started out looking for a little ladybug greenhouse in Hay Springs, Nebraska. This entailed driving 15 miles south of town and turning on a dirt road that was just about as bumpy as you could imagine. If your creamer wasn’t mixed into your coffee before hand, it sure is now.

After traveling about 5 miles down this lovely dirt road we found the location of the greenhouse. The only problem is that the greenhouse that we were looking for did not exist anymore. So there we went turning back around and heading back down the beautiful bumpy road from where we once came.

So our travels then took us east to the quaint town of Rushville, Nebraska. This let us down another dirt road that was nowhere near as bumpy as the last. After driving a few miles we found the glorious little greenhouse and headed inside. The gardeners were very friendly and helped all of us navigate our way around the greenhouse. The greenhouse was full of beautiful flower baskets and the gift shop even had a lot of cute little gifts that could be purchased in addition to your flowers.

After we bought our very own flower basket and little sprouts, we headed back to town for a picnic. We found a great picnic spot at the park in Rushville. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and laughing with friends. Once we finished the tasty food we headed back home to plant our new sprouts. After all of the excitement some R&R was much needed.
